  • At this time, no. This helps me to be able to take insurance and offer a rate that is lower than the average in NYC.

    There are many benefits for clients: no commute to the therapy office, more flexibility with timing and scheduling, and less barriers laying in the way of committing to weekly therapy. Although video sessions may seem awkward at first, they are a wonderful tool that has stick around since the pandemic. Tele-therapy has made therapy avaliable to people who previously did not have access to speaking with professionals and has helped to normalize and de-stigmatize therapy and mental health. Once you schedule your session, I will provide more information on how to connect to your appointment.

    Due to licensing restrictions, I am limited to meeting with people who are in the state of New York at the time of the session.

  • My Out-Of-Pocket rate is $185 per session, which is more affordable than the average session in New York. Therapy is an investment in your mental health, your relationships, and your wellbeing. It is worth checking with your insurance plan to see if they can reimburse you for part of the fee. More information can be found on my ‘Rate & Insurance’ page.

  • Once you reach out, we will schedule a free 10-15 phone call for us to meet and get to know each other. I will tell you more about myself and you can ask me any questions that you may have. I will also ask you about why you are seeking therapy and we will discuss logistics such as scheduling an payment. You are by no means obligated to book a first appointment after the phone call.

  • If we both decide that we would be a good fit and we are set to move forward, we will agree on a weekly appointment time. I will email you information including a Zoom link, instructions on how to connect, and four different forms that I will ask you to fill out before our first appointment.

  • Trust is one of the most important elements in the client-therapist relationship. Therapy sessions are confidential with a few minor legal exceptions that I will describe in more detail during your session and on a form that you will review before starting.

    You are protected under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and therefore, I cannot communicate with anyone about you or what has been said unless you sign a written consent for me to do so. The exceptions are related the safety of you and others. If it would be helpful for me to communicate with your physician, psychiatrist, or insurance company, we can discuss the logistics of this in session.

  • Sessions are between 45-50 minutes, once a week.

    Your involvement in therapy is voluntary and you have the right to end at any time. However, most clients attend weekly sessions for 4-6 months and stop when they feel that they have made progress and have met the goals they have set for themselves. Many others continue for longer because they make new goals for themselves and benefit from continued sessions. I will check in with you throughout our time together and we will discuss your progress.

  • Once you schedule your session with me, I will provide more information on how to connect to the virtual appointment. You will need a quiet space to sit and a secure internet connection. I will get started by introducing myself and telling you more about therapy and the process so that it is clear from the start. You will not be required to share any information that makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe. I will help to guide you to define your goals and what you are looking to accomplish. You are encouraged to ask questions at any time during the session. Remember, this session is for you and it is okay to be nervous before or during the appointment!

  • Therapy can help you with many things, depending on what you are looking to get out of it. In general, therapy helps you to gain a greater sense of inner peace.

    As a therapist, I will provide a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive space to help you to discuss your personal goals and to work towards them . My job is to help you to help yourself. I will help you to explore new coping skills and to process past experiences and ideologies that may affect your mood, relationships, and general wellbeing while increasing your level of insight into your emotions. These practices will help to address issues including anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, grief, stress management, relationships with food and exercise, and more. As a trained mental health professional who is neither your friend or family, I am able to provide a non-biased perspective that provides unique level of support without any judgement.

  • Therapy can be viewed as an investment in your mental health and wellbeing. However, if you are unable to receive reimbursement from your insurance and/or find the rate to be unaffordable, please reach out to me and I can send you information on other clinicians and clinics in New York.
