My Specialties
While working as a therapist in a college counseling center, I learned just how hard it is to find a therapist who specializes in working with young adults. Young adults and college students are often lumped in with either adolescents or adults their parents’ age. The unique struggles and strengths of 18 to 30-year-olds are ignored and therefore, many young adults feel lost and unheard when looking for a therapist.
My job is to help you to help yourself.
I will not give advice nor judge. We will work together to explore your options, decisions, and thoughts to help guide you through struggles and successes.
I accept and encourage feedback - therapy (and life) is not a one-size-fits-all model. No topic is ever off the table. Therapy is a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to talk about whatever you feel comfortable talking about - at your own speed.

Do you ever struggle with constant worries, feelings of being on edge, or trouble relaxing? Anxiety can feel overwhelming and exhausting.
Together we will explore what is making you feel anxious and the effect this anxiety has on you: your body, your relationships, and various realms of your life.
Through therapy, you will learn various skills and tools to help you to challenge these anxious thoughts and address them at the root so that you feel more empowered and at peace.
-
Feeling down, tired, and not interested in things that you used to enjoy? Have you just not been feeling like yourself lately?
We will work together to identify these patterns of behavior. We will set goals so you can improve your mood, while acknowledging and processing hard emotions. Depression and sadness can feel isolating and heavy—but you are not alone.
-
It’s not uncommon to feel lonely or to question certain relationships in your young adult years. Whether it’s with friends, romantic or sexual partners, or family members, relationships can be stressful.
Therapy can help you learn communication skills, which you can use to navigate conflict and increase connection in your relationships. Together, we can also work to find ways to meet new people and strengthen existing relationships.
-
We like to tell ourselves that we can predict the future, so any and all changes and transitions can be mapped out perfectly. But has that ever actually been true?
Transitions can be stressful and overwhelming. Whether you are transitioning into being a student or employee, just moved to New York, or are starting a new chapter in your life, we can work together to identify and strengthen coping skills in a time when you may feel like everything is out of your control.
-
Negative thought spirals are powerful. We can easily convince ourselves that our critical thoughts are facts rather than what they are — just thoughts.
By exploring patterns in thoughts and behaviors, you can lessen the power that criticisms and worries have over you. This unlocks a sense of freedom, confidence, and power as you improve your own self-confidence, self-worth, and body image.
-
Setting boundaries with the people in your life is essential for your identity and mental health. Whether these boundaries are physical, emotional, or both, they will allow you to intentionally define and communicate your needs to yourself and others.
-
Young adulthood is a time to explore your identities and who you are. While that can be exciting, it can also create a lot of confusion, self doubt, and fear. Using a trauma informed, anti-racist and LGBTQIA+ lens, I will help you to explore your multiple identities, process past barriers to expressing them, and find pride in who you are.
